According with a long-standing tradition, within the scope of this year’s Science Festival on September 23-24 the Institute organised festival lessons for pupils from Social Primary School STO no. 11 and Primary School no. 68 in Warsaw. The classes have been designed for young science enthusiasts who would like to learn who a scientist really is, what their daily work is like, and what challenges and fascinating discoveries can await them even during a seemingly ordinary day in the laboratory.
Students had the opportunity to take a behind-the-scenes look at real research. Together with their instructors, they discovered:
• why bacteria are not only beneficial but essential to life on Earth,
• what yeast needs to grow and function properly,
• and also… is there really DNA in bananas – and how you can isolate it yourself and see it with your own eyes!
Classes were held by scientists form our Institute:
Both students and teachers participated enthusiastically in the classes.
Thank you for your presence, engagement, and many great questions!
We hope this meetings with science will inspire you
to make your own discoveries!
