In October 2025 the scientific monograph entitled “Nutritional recommendations and nutritional values of poultry feed – sixth edition, revised and supplemented” (in Polish version only) edited by Paweł Konieczka, Anna Tuśnio and Stefania Smulikowska – the honorary editor – was published. The monograph is under the patronage of The Polish Branch Of World’s Poultry Science Association (PB WPSA), and it was published by The Kielanowski Institute of Animal Physiology and Nutrition, Polish Academy of Sciences. Scientists from the leading research centres in Poland were involved in the works on this publication, which is the continuation of ‘Poultry Feeding Recommendations” first published in 1991. Since then, this work has been systematically updated and holds a special place in agricultural sciences. These recommendations are not only an important textbook for students, academic teachers, and research workers, but also constitute a crucial tool for Polish poultry breeders and producers, Polish advisory services, and feed producers.
The inspiration for this reissue comes from the spectacular and consistent success of Polish poultry farming visible both in Poland and around the world. This publication provides, among other things, current feeding recommendations for various poultry species used in both intensive and more extensive systems, as well as the nutritional value of feed ingredients that can be used in poultry nutrition to fully utilize the birds’ genetic potential.
