The competition MINIATURA 10 is financed by the National Science Centre. This competition is opened to researchers with a PhD degree who do not yet have experience with the grant system. Funding for research activities enables winners to test their research ideas, which may serve as the basis for developing a full grant proposal.
dr Bartosz Osuch from the Department of Animal Physiology KIAPN PAS will conduct a scientific activity entitled:
‘The role of the kynurenine–redox axis in regulating mitochondrial bioenergetics and mitophagy in the rat hippocampus during chronic controlled ethanol exposure and associated inflammatory response’.
The project’s working hypothesis posits that disturbances in the kynurenine–redox axis constitute an important mechanism responsible for mitochondrial dysfunction and impaired mitophagy in the hippocampus during chronic ethanol exposure. The research will enable the analysis of these interconnected processes and the determination of their significance for changes occurring in the central nervous system under the influence of alcohol. The results obtained will expand the knowledge regarding biological mechanisms associated with long-term alcohol exposure.
Congratulations!
