On May 15-17, 2026 there was a 7th run Backyard Ultra Jabłonna organized by Rzemiosło & Styl, Jabłonna.
The partners of this run were: The Kielanowski Institute of Animal Physiology and Nutrition, Polish Academy of Sciences, Jabłonna Commune, Sports and Recreation Center in Jabłonna, village of Jabłonna. Mariusz Mówiński was a director of the run, and Anna Mówińska was a run coordinator.
The run was officialy opened by Jarosław Chodorski, Jabłonna commune mayor, and prof. dr hab. inż. Andrzej Herman, director of the Kielanowski Institute of Animal Physiology and Nutrition, Polish Academy of Sciences. 87 competitors took part in the run, our Institute was represented by dr inż. Jacek Michalski, deputy director for general matters.
The run promoted i.a. a healthy lifestyle, physical education, and sports; tourism and local knowledge; and integration of the local community. The route was marked out through green areas along dirt, unpaved, and paved roads near our Institute.
Competitors ran two routes, day and night, starting every full hour and completing a 4.167-mile (6.706 km) loop. The faster a runner covered the distance, the longer they could rest, because on the next full hour, competitors would restart the next loop until one runner remained at the start and completed the final loop in under an hour.
The winner was Piotr Piorun Szymański, who completed 52 loops with a total distance of 348,712 km. The winner of the women’s run was Małgorzata Płuciś (26 loops, distance 174,356 km).
The winner of the first edition of Backyard Ultra Polska (August 26, 2022, palace park in Jabłonna) was Piotr Łuszcz, who completed 37 loops with a total distance of 248 km.
